ZANTHOXYLUM PLANISPINUM

Small spiny evergreen tree 4m, the spines extend even to the top of the leaves, yellow flowers, red scented berries, very attractive in early winter. Japan. Hardy. The whole plant smells like old gasworks. Pretty awful really.
