POLYLEPIS AUSTRALIS

Like a natural bonsai. Flaky cinnamon coloured bark on a mystical distorted tree only 3-4m at maturity. A relative of Alchemilla mollis. I have seen magical groves of this at very high altitude from Ecuador to Argentina. Hardy.
